MOTM25 saw two riders complete our Triple Crown. Paddy Cope took the throne – becoming the first rider to finish all of three of our events – with Joe Tresadern not too far behind. Chapeau to them both for this remarkable feat.
Somewhat fittingly, this took both of them several years to complete. The idea of the Triple Crown (which began as a joke) was never to try and finish all three events within the same year, although at least one rider has considered trying this.

However, for the foreseeable future, the Triple Crown is going to require at least two years to complete. After a couple of exciting years running three events, we’re going to be reining ourselves in a little from 2026 onwards, with only two events each year.
The plan is that Wild West Country will remain an annual event, with The Perfidious Albion and Mountains of the Merfynion running on alternate years. We will begin with the latter, meaning that MOTM26 will be followed by TPA27.

This is a change we have been considering for a while and it’s something that we hope will keep our events sustainable. Organising events is an absolute privilege, but it is also exhausting and can become all consuming. It will be nice to focus on other things. Like sleep.
